View Full Version : Grey hair disaster!

I have been having high and lowlights woven in to my grey hair, by a professional hairdresser for some years, but recently I moved to France and attended a very busy high street hairdresser to have the same done to my regrowth - to my horror they applied a darker dye on all my roots and Left it on for over an hour! I didn't realise that this is what they done until they removed the foils and dried my hair. I complained, and they agreed to put it right on another appointment. Well, after their second attempt I couldn't leave fast enough - I was in tears - all my lovely blonde highlights are all gone and I have brassy yellow and red streaks, and a scalp which glints of red and pink in obvious ridges- my hair line looks like it's on fire! I know I should go back and ask for my money back - it cost me an arm and a leg - I'm a mere pensioner - but I haven't the courage to face them again - and what is the point - they obviously can't do anything about it- and I get too emotional anyway. Is it possible to put an 'off the shelf' blonde on my roots and pull it threw just before I wash it out to tone it all down - Thankfully the condition of my hair is still quite good - I'm too old to wait three or four years for it all to grow out!
Please give me some hope that something can be done to lighten my hair and my heart and put some beauty back into my hair! Thanks

OK... here's one thing you can do you can always get a wig(thats just an backup option) or you can try to wash your hair or you can just try to dye it grey again I'm not sure if there is much I can say... but I'm sure you will figure it ouy

These stories really make me mad.

They tried to bleach out the dark dye. That never works! Unfortunately, color remover (in Europe there's Igora Phanton) won't work after bleach has been used.

You can dye it again, but it'll have to have enough pigment in it to tone down the orange and red. A dark blonde dye may work, but you may have to go to light brown. In either case, be careful because your hair may "grab" color now and turn out darker than you expect. Do strand tests.

Good luck.
