I live in Florida and finling my 2007 Taxes, now we can put any big items bought and claim the sales taxes we paid on that item If we purchased something from a company and they came to install it in our homes can we claim that on our taxes, if not why?? We still paid the sales tax.

In addition to the standard amount for sales tax that you can deduct based on your income and number of exemptions, you can add the cost of sales tax paid only for cars, boats, airplanes, home (i.e. mobile home) and building materials. So no, unfortunately you cannot include the sales taxes paid for other big ticket items. I don't know why congress limited the deduction to just those items - perhaps to make it easier for the IRS to do audits.
