My nephew is 23 years old now, as a child his father paid child support for a few years and stopped then eluded atthorities by using allias names. Some 19 years later my sister hired an attorney from the Oprah Whinfery show and located her sons dad. He was found to be worth over 25 million dollars. Suddently he died in Birmingham England, although many of his assets are in the United states. My question is, if my nephew is not his fathers will and his father was not married to my sister, is he still entitled to compensation under the law?

P.S. Case is in California

Thank you,

Philly

Yes, he will need to hire an attorney and make a claim on the will in probate, He has to do it quickly while it is still in probate court.

A lot is going to depend on DNA if that person didn't sign the birth certificate. Being an heir has nothing to do with marriage or the lack of it. He may have a share of the estate owing to him. Also there may be other siblings out there who knows.
You need to contact a lawyer and if he wasn't a U.S. resident contact a barrister ( lawyer ) in england to sort things out. You need to do this quickly or the estate may be distributed before he can make a claim against it.
