I have just had a Trane XL90 gas furnace installed and it is causing interference on the TV and radios in the house. All grounds are correct and the furnace works fine otherwise. This is a high efficiency furnace with electronic controls. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Contact the installer who just put your furnace in. They should be able to fix the problem. If this has a variable speed DC blower motor that could be the problem. Next thing to check in the electric panel is the ground conductor for the ground rod outside and all the bonding.

Thank you hvac 1000. The grounds have been checked and are OK. The 'Noise" is on the TV channels 3 & 5and radio shortwave bands. It seems to be something with the inducer motor or the circuit board. I was wondering if the noise could be picked up by the thermostat leads or the AC leads and being radiated to the rest of the house. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

EMI and other sources of interference can travel by many different means to cause the same problem. If it is the inducer motor a capacitor bridge or shunt could fix the problem but I have no experience doing this with a inducer motor. The motors are not cheap but if you are sure it is the cause of the problem you might consider replacing it.

I would track down the problem and make sure you found the correct item before I would spend $$$.
