I am 18 years old, 5'7", and 160 pounds. I have something coming up in 3 1/2 months, and for the past week I have been working out and eating better. For this reason, and for my own personal health, I would like to get down to 135 pounds. Is it realistic to lose 25 pounds in 3 1/2 months, naturally and saftely? Any tips are helpful, anything about eating tips or exercising. If this is not a safe and realistic goal I would also like to know. Thanks for anything!

Hey there... I'm in almost the same position as you but slightly different.. I've lost like 20 lb in the past 2 months by doing simple things... there is a lot you can do and if you do some of the things.. it should help.. mmm.. here are some good tips

* eat 6 SMALL meals/snacks a day... try not to just eat 3 big meals.. eat 6 small ones.. this is because it makes your matabolism continue to work... because once you eat a meal your stomach is satisfied but every 3 to 4 hours.. it is empty again ( this is why it growls) then your stomach goes into starvation mode.. so just snack a lot or try to eat something small every 3 hours.. if you aren't hungry drink water..
* give up soda.. specially if you drink a lot of it.. I did this and lost weight.. I couldn't believe it because only drank diet soda to begin with.. it helps.. .
* if you decide you want to work out.. work out in the morning.. because your body will burn off fat first... DO NOT EAT before you workout.. and always workout in the morning.. I haven't tried this yet because I have early classes.. but feel free to try it.. a personal trainer told me this.
* eat healthier.. I recommend oatmeal for the morning... salads.. healthy snack foods.. honestly I love wheat thins..
* drink a ton of water.. half the time you think you are hungry you are in fact dehydrated... but then again... if you are snacking this shouldn't really happen either..
* weight yourself every 3 days or so... so you are motivated but at the same time... you know you have more to go...

Thosse are just some tips.. but yeah your goal sounds realistic..
