x + 2y = 7
3x - 2y = -3

The negative 2y cancels with the positive 2y.

New problem looks like 4x=4... after you add the x's together and find the sum of 7 and -3

Then you solve your equation... by getting x alone... you must divide the 4 by 4.

So, x=1
