that is the question...

The day after my 18th birthday ( June 1999) I got a Macys card with a credit limit of 100.00 (I know it sounds riddiculous that I let this ruin my credit!)

Long story short. I didn't pay it. Now a week ago I received a letter wanting me to choose one of three payment options to satisfy the debt.

Pay total of 349.00 or choice two pay half or choice three make payments.

Now I have no problem paying this. But I worry how it will affect me. Its not currently on my credit bureau. My credit is PERFECT! If I pay this will it be worse for me then better?

If the answer is yes to pay then do I pay the whole amount or pay half.

This is a nine year old bill! Obviously it hasn't affected me currently but I don't want it to hit my report again.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thank you in advance. :p

How long since you made a charge on the account?

You charged the money and have a moral obligation to pay the card.
To tell you not to pay a bill you acknowledge is valid and yours would not wrong of me to do.

Pay it off. It WILL come back to bite you in the butt someday if you don't.

If you won't pay it, it may hit your credit score

Pay it off, but make sure that you get a statement that the debt is satisfied with the payment, IN WRITING.
