View Full Version : My car surges when its hot

My 1997 1600 honda civic starts surging when it gets hot it runs fine for about 10 minutes but after than as soonas you stop at a juction in starts surging can anyone help me

Your problem could be caused by several things, I own a 95 civic with a GSR swap and my car did the same thing, You should check and or replace your spark plugs first, then check you coolant level and make sure everything is working correctly on that end. Then if you are still having problems after that you might want to check your timming. Good Luck!:) Most likely the spark plugs will fix the problem

It has just had new spark plugs I was told that changing the map sensor would fix the problem but it was still the same and the coolant level is fine I'm just getting really frustrated as I've only had the car just over a year and was told it would be an easy problem 2 fix

I have not tried the iacv it only surges after haven been driven 4 at least 10 minutes it idles fine when first started
