I am adding a garbage disposal to my sink and need to add a switched outlet under the sink to plug the disposal into.
I have a an outlet above the sink I can add the switch to.
I need to know how to safely wire the switch and outlet.
Any help will be appreciated.

From you outlet over the countertop, run a piece of 14/2 with a ground to the box for the switch for your disposal. Then run another 14/2 with a ground to the outlet box under the sink. To hook it up, connect the black wire to the hot side of the outlet on top of the counter. And connect the white wire to the neutral side of the switch and connect the ground wire to the green screw on the bottom of the outlet. This will get the power to the switch box. Next connect the outlet under the sink up with the ground wire to the green screw on the new outlet, hook the black wire to the brass screw on the side of the outlet and the white wire to the silver screw on the other side of the outlet. To finish the connection in the switch box put the two white wires together with a wire nut and push to the back of the box. Take the black wire from the outlet on top of the counter and connect it to one of the screws on a single pole switch and take the black wire from the outlet under the sink and connect it to the other side of the single switch and hook the ground wire to the green screw on the bottom of the switch.

Turn the power back on the first outlet and your are done.

Only use 14-2 if it is already 14-2, Could be #12 on a 20 Amp breaker, then DON'T use #14. Just use 12-2.
Also, you may be able to remove enough material to remove single gang mudring, and install 2 gang mudring, then you have a place for a switch and a receptacle.
They also make combo switch and recepticles, and combo GFI receptacle and switch in single device.
