I'd like to lighten my light/medium brown hair using a hi-lift color. Loreal Hicolor seems good, but the only "ash" shade seems to be "sandstone," but it doesn't list the base on the box so I'm not sure.

Anyone know of any good blonde hi-lift dyes that come in ash blonde? Please only respond if you know the answer to this question, no "go to a salon, please. I mean, i might go to the salon, but i'd like to know i can do the base color myself.

Also, do i necessarily have to use a "hi-lift" color to get lift? Hi color by loreal uses a 30 vol developer. COuldn't I just choose any light ash blonde color and use a 30 vol to achieve the same amount of lift? THANKS
