My 37 year old adult son has been at my ex-wifes house for over a year. He does not pay rent, does not have a job and has a warrant for his arrest on a DUI charge from 2 years ago. He lost custody of his 3 children who are living with their maternal grandparents. He owes more than $40,000 in past due child support.
How can he be removed from my ex-wife's home legally and permantly? My ex-wife wants him out so she can have her space and life back. The house is located in the Washington state.

He's a legal adult. There is no requirement for her to keep him around the house. Eviction notice.

The problem here is that he has, essentially established residency. So even though he's not really a tenant, he's still a resident. Therefore, physically throwing him out, changing the locks etc may cause your ex some trouble. The safest course is to follow the eviction process for her area. Generally this means giving him a 3-7 notice to vacate. If he hasn't left by the notice date, she will need to request an eviction order from a local court. He will have an opportunity for a hearing. After the hearing, the court will issue the eviction order. If that's ignored, thjen she gets a sheriff to execute the order, removing him and his things. At that point she can change the locks.
A check with the local court will determine the exact process for that jurisdiction.

Well if he has a warrant out for his arrest, call up your local city police, tell them he is there, they come and take him to jail. That is a good start.
