I have been contact by a telesales company selling advertising space.

The phone call was taped and at the end of the conversation I did verbally agree to placing an advert but was told I must reply in writing via email.

When off the phone I realised that it was not such a good deal and therefore returned the email telling them that I did not want to continue with the advert.

They have called me and said that I made a verbal agreement which they have in tape and I HAVE to pay.

Is there no "Cooling Off" period for verbal contracts?
