Does grinding the shoulder weaken the saw blade?

You are talking about grinding the shoulder of the carbid tip, right? It makes the kerf thinner so the blade heats up a lot more than it was designed to do. Hot blades can warp and this slows the cut, smokes and makes them even hotter.
