Tub is draining slow. Have tried Draino and liquid plumber.

OK.. try this. Remove the trip lever face plate and pull the entire trip waste assembly up and out of drain (this could even be issue... clean well). Now wet a small face cloth... push down into overflow pipe with screwdriver... don't push to hard... but cover good.

Then, using a plunger, plunge that baby... Here, add about 2-3 inches of water... set plunger in place.. push down to get suction... have friend hold rag in overflow (gently) while you PULL back up on plunger strongly (Watch for friend eyes and such especially if you have used drano....wear goggles and be careful). Then push pull push pull.

In this case the pull up can do great things. See... when plunge tub or even sink if overflow not blocked you get no pressure... just backs up overflow... get it?

Massplumber gave you one solution. Let me give you another. If plumging doesn't work then snake the drain from the trip lever face plate that you removed. Send your snake down the open hole. About 18" down you will hit the return bend of the trap. Once you've worked your way around that bend you have a straight shot to the vent. Put out about 15 feet more to be sure. Follow it up by flushing the line out with hot water. Good luck, Tom
