Oil is a viscous liquid with high density. You can only squirt it or smear it. It will never come out in fine droplets unless you use an extremely high pressure canister.

Omg I'm so stupid. Oil DOES NOT have a high density, that's why it floats on top of water. It is viscous however.

Oil has high surface tension due to high inter-molecular attraction. When you spray oil you need to provide high energy to break inter-molecular forces. When oil is passed through narrow nozzle under high velocity (spray pump) it form tinny droplets which is oil spray.

Let me know if you have more questions.
