My Husband And I Have Been Having Problems With Our Heating And Air Unit. We Have Been In Our New House For Over A Year And We Have Been Having Problems From Day One. We Have Called Our Builder Numerous Amount Of Times. The Unit Is Only Heating One Side Of The House. On The Other Side We Are Cold. The Unit Have Been Blowing Cold Air From Day One. All They Want To Do Is Adjust The Vents And Put Deflectors On The Vent. Problem Not Solved. Now That Our Warranty Has Run Out They Are Taking Their Time About Fixing It. Our Power Bill Is Around $400 Per Month. We Have Two Units. One That Controls The Bonus Room And One That Controls The Bottom Half. Please Help And Tell Us What We Need To Do. They Want To Move The Thermastat To The Middle Of The House. Do You Think That Will Solve Our Problems.

First off you have a track record (hopefully written) that will prove your problem was not fixed in the warranty period so you still are under warranty to fix that item. (that is the way the courts of law look at situations like yours.)) Just because someone does not fix something during the warranty period does not mean they escape the responsibility as long as the subject was known to both parties during the warranty period. If that was the case all business people would just wait till the warranty is up and nothing would get fixed.

Your best bet is to call in a DIFFERENT company or two different companies and find out what the problem really is and how much it will cost to repair.

No one here can help much because we would have to see the install and that is difficult to do on a computer. You need a on site inspection by a different qualified HVAC company.
