Hi Tax Experts,

First of all, you guys rock! I have been reading your responses on this website. It is very kind of you to be helping fellow immigrants with their tax-related questions.

I am a single, Turkish citizen who has had these statuses below while employed:

OPT: 01/16/07 - 05/24/07
H1B: 5/24/07 - (present)

I am not much tax-savvy, so the question is simple: Which form(s) should I file my Taxes with? Should US tax treaties with Turkey require a specific form?

Thanks in advance,
Turco

You need to file as a dual-status alien, filing BOTH Forms 1040 and 1040NR.

This is NOT a tax return for the lay person to submit; get professional help.
