Hi all,

I have an old house, with a 90%+ gas forced air furnace in the basement. The furnace is 3 yrs, gas feed and electric feed are 3 yrs old, and the duct work is 3 yrs old.

I am having a b*tch of a time trying to heat the house this year... can't get the inside air temp above 55 some nights... burrrrrrrrrrrrr

How "warm" should the air be coming from the registers with the furnace on?

Depending on model and type it should be somewhere between 30 to 50 degs warmer then the air going in. In other words if the return air to the furnace is 55 then the air out should be about 85 to 105 degs. Have you checked your funace filter?

Hmmm... I'll have to get a thermometer. I don't think it's 30-50 degrees warmer... but I'll check today and get back 'atcha
