I want hook up my gas dryer but do not have a gas line in my laundry room. I have a water heater closet next to the laundry room and can t-off of this gas line. I want to run a T coupler in front of the shut off valve between the 3/4" gas line and the 1/2" flex line. This way I can shut off the gas line at the water heater and not have to re-light all of the pilots in the house if I shut off the main gas line.
My question is, if I run a 1/2" gas line to the dryer from the 3/4" gas line will this be sufficient supply to the dryer and not interrupt the supply volume to the water heater?
