Hio There, I have just had to change a shower cartridge as it was leaking internally and to do this had to turn off the water supply and drain the tanks. This I did OK. I have since turned on the rising main and I have cold water downstairs but none upstairs in 2 bathrooms (sink and Bath) but the showers are OK, and the 3rd bathroom where I replaced the shower cartridge all is fine. I assume air in the pipes. I have again drained the system and have opened all cold taps upstairs and turned downstairs to half open and reopened the rising main. All good downstaitrs nothing upstairs.

Just after ideas.

I have a whole list of things for you to check.. but first.. start at the aerators at the sinks... remove them and clean them... run water from spout. If water present when aerator off... replace aerator and all set. Get back to us here after you try that.

What is an aerator? Also as you can work out I have 3 upstairs bathrooms, 1 is fully functional, bath, sink, bidet, shower and toilet. Other 2 all showers OK and all hot water but no cold in sink bath and toilets won't refil.

Aerator is at end of spout of all sink faucets (turn clockwise to remove) You sure you have hot water at sinks?

OK then, check the aerators. Then tell me how old these toilets are.. just approximately... get back to me... I will wait

There is nothing at the end of the tap spouts. A bit of grime but that's about it.

House is 11 year sold and all bathrooms that old

saustin7... unless aerators have beed removed... they are there. The aerators are the part that has the screen in the end of the spout. Look for the screen and then try to rmove these.

Toilet may need to shut water supply and remove the top of the toilet fill valve, purge water and then replace washer. Get back to me on aeraors.
