Can a convicted felon obtain a passport?

I was convicted for perjury 10 years ago and now I am planning on going on a cruise this year for my daughter's wedding. Is it possible for me to obtain a passport?

It is not getting a passport, it is basically an official form of Identification ( think of a national ID card everyone hates to talk about) the trouble is in where you want to travel to, their VISA requirements to enter their nation, each nation you want to visit will have standards to enter their nation.

For instance, Canada requires anyone convicted of a felony to wait at least five years after the conviction to enter their country. Even then, there may be some hoops that you have to go through in order to gain entry. Other countries may have more stringent regulations concerning those convicted of felonies and wanting to enter their borders.

All European, Asian, and Middle Eastern countries have no problems with you travelling to their countries. Depending on what you were charged with however, you may have to register with the local police. Make sure the US embassy knows you are there.

I already have a passport and was recently convicted of a drug felony with 2 years probation.. after probation, I would like to leave this stupid country and being convicted for my stalkers drugs! So... is there a database where they keep "felons" registered?? Would they even know once probation is finished if I was leaving the country? (from US)

I really don't know. I mean I am sure that they know if you leave or not but it is hard to tell. IF you were only on probation I do not think that they would be watching you. I believe that you can travel on probation as long as you let your officer know. It should be fine.
