I have some really old movies I'd like to convert and be able to watch. Does anyone have any idea how to get them converted to a current form of media like CD, DVD or even VHS? Right now they are 8mm Kodachrome films.

Dave, you could try this web site:

Slide Scanning Service | Scanning Slides to DVD | Scan Slides to CD | Transfer Slides to DVD | Convert Slides to DVD | Slide Photo Scanning | Slides to Digital | Photo Slide Scanning (http://www.slidescanning.com)

Here's another place (http://www.homemoviedepot.com/film/film_transfer_steps.php) that does film to DVD transfers. There are quite a few of them around, actually. I live in the western suburbs of Chicago, and we have a number of places in the area that do this. You might want to check your yellow pages if you don't want to send your one-of-a-kind films through the mail.
