My bf's best friend told me that my boyfriend is a virgin and I have reason to believe him because when we are out and stuff he's afraid to make a move on me and we haven't even kissed yet. He keeps on giving me lame excuses and stuff.
Also when we talk about sex he seems as if he doesn't know much about what he's talking about and he says that he's only had sex 1 time. When a person has sex once, won't they become addicted or want to try it out more? This also leads me to believe what his best friend is saying that he's a virgin. Still, I don't understand why he lied to me when he could've told me from the start. Why do you think he lied to be about him not being a virgin?

First no, depending on your ages, he may have had sex and found he was not really mature enough at this point. He may have worried about her being pregnant, she may have been a virgin and had so much pain it was not a good experience. And even so, no you don't beocme adicted and have to keep doing it.

As in why his friend lied to you about your boyfriend being a virgin or why he lied to you about not being a virgin
His friend may have lied cause he wants to look cool and maybe to make you not like your boyfriend anymore or maybe to make you like him more (he might think that you would prefer your boyfriend to be a virgin)
Your boyfriend might feel that he wants to be all grown up and mature so he said he is not a virgin
OR he could have lost his viginity and is ashamed of it and wasn't ready and he doesn't want you to make the same mistake

In relationships, guys lie. They're protecting themselves from some truth or they're protecting you from some truth, but you may never really know which and you may never understand. Meanwhile, guys lie. It's almost genetic. Sorry to admit it, but there it is.

Remember the adage "Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see." Oh my gosh how helpful that can be!

Ask a guy "why" questions and you're virtually begging for a semi-truthful answer.

So, after all that, I'd agree that he lied because it protected him from you thinking him immature. It's a false fear, probably, but there it is.

When dating, believe HALF of what you see a guy do. His character will be revealed slowly over time by his actions. If he acts innocent and inexperienced for a LONG time, then that's probably what he is, regardless of what he says. You can figure this out.

Even if he's had some sexual experiences, he may still be ultimately almost virginal. Does this help? Probably not. See, "why" is only really effective in understanding feminine motivations/relations. Even knowing all this doesn't help with a guy, you still have to sit back for six months and just WATCH to get the truth.

So relax, and consider not putting sexual stuff into your relationship. It's not actually required.
