Does anyone have a book suggestion for someone who enjoyed the Horatio Hornblower series by CS Forester?

Bernard Cornwell [Sharpe's series -- non-naval]
Frederick Marryat (various standalones)
Philip McCutchan [Lt. Halfhyde series]
Victor Suthren [Edward Mainwaring series]
Patrick O'Brian [Aubrey and Maturin series]
Richard Woodman [Nathaniel Drinkwater series]
Dewey Lambdin [Alan Lewrie series]
Alexander Kent [Richard Bolitho series]

Try the Scarlet Pimpernel series by Baroness Edmusa Orczy.

Its my recommendation for anyone! :)

Thank you each for the ideas! We were only familiar with a few of them!

You're hung on on the Pimpernel, aren't you chick.

I'd second the Patrick O'Brien series on Aubrey.

None of them are Horation Hornblower but I enjoyed the Kent series. But not the Aubrey ones.

There is a recent series from Julian Stockwin about a seaman who rises to officer rank. I enjoyed those.

I'd second the Patrick O'Brien series on Aubrey.

I'd invent a time machine simply to go back and snag myself one of the dashing gentlemen in the League of the Scarlet Pimpernel... oh yeah... I'm hung up on it! ;)
