My husband has genetic heart disease and just had a heart cath last week and everything was fine. He has had a bad cough and stifness in his arm and shoulders, and has been short of breath. If he takes the dogs out, and it's just around our yard, he come in the house with tightness in his chest and he breaths like there's a rattle in his throat. Does anyone know what this could be? Or what might be going on, he went to his doctor and they ran some tests on him, they want to see him back on Monday. Oh yeah and he's been very tired, he sleeps all the time. Thank You!

Congestive heart problems do exactly as you described. My mother had this condition so I am familiar with this. Basically it is a build up of fluid in the lungs that is causing the rattle and short of breath. The lungs put a strain on the heart with all the fluid. Take him Monday to the dr appointment and speak to the doctor yourself about what your hubby should and should not be doing exercise wise. Tiredness and sleeping a lot are nature's way of trying to aleviate the problem (but doesn't work that way).

If you husband should ever wake up and can't breathe, call the paramedics FAST to be on the safe side.
