Can anybody help me what forms I have to choose for Tax Filling.

My Details

I am in USA on H1B since September 2007 with my Wife and 9 months old daughter both are on H4 Visa (i.e. Dependent visa). My Wife don't have SSN or ITIN Number.

1) What forms I have to fill?

2) Can I take Exemptions of my wife and dauther as dependents.

If you file jointly with your wife and you BOTH choose to be treated as resident alien for all of 2007, you can file Form 1040 or 1040A. However, you must wait until at least mid-May 2008 before you can file.

You WILL be able to claim your daughter, PLUS you will be able to get a $1,000 Child Tax Credit, PLUS you get a $10,700 standard deduction by filing jointly, so it is worth the wait.

Finally, ALL 2007 world-wide income must be declared if you choose to file jointly.
