So. I'm "back" on the market, and in retrospect, it's been 8 years since I've been single. EIGHT!! It's a bit crazy... I'm 21... and I've had a girlfriend (different ones) since I was a freshmen in high school... and I've just never been single for more than 3 - 4 weeks at a time. This brings up a problem... I've never been on a "date" with a stranger, nor have I ever had to really REALLY flirt and make moves. All my exes have been really good friends of mine that I started to date.

So recently, I've been on a few dates here and there... but they all end up the same way... I drop the girl off at home, and I go home. There's nothing wrong with this... but I feel like the girl's expecting me to ask them to come over... but for some reason, I can't find the right time in the conversation to ask them. Anyway, this made me ask the women:

What's your idea of a perfect date? How do you want the guy to ask you, where do you want him to take you, and how do you want the night to end? I feel like I'm in that limbo between the friend zone + dating zone...

I'll be taking notes. Fire away.

Ok, here's my opinion:

I think that the first date shouldn't be too formal, so nix the dinner. If they are virtually a stranger, it can be awkward. Nix the movie too cause you can't really talk. I think for a first date, casual is good. Drinks at a cute little place with a quiet atmosphere is nice. Just going someplace to talk. We have a cute paddleboat in our city that you can get drinks on. So I think that's a cute idea. I think after the first date, anything goes... mini golf, bowling, movies. I'm a fan of spontaneity, so like... taking a roadtrip to some random place is cool too.

P.S. I thought I would add that when I click with a person, we could do anything and it would be fun. The most fun I had was drinking, then staying up all night talking, we got stranded and had to walk 3 miles in the snow on zero sleep. That was the best time ever.
