Hi, I've also been looking for the recipe for coconut haystacks, I remember making them at school when I lived in England and we used condensed milk and desiccated coconut, but I forget what else. Mafiaangel180's recipe sounds really good, but where I live now I can't get corn syrup, in fact I must show my ignorance because I'm not sure what it is. Do you know if the recipe you're looking for uses condensed milk? Maybe the evaporated milk together with corn syrup is similar to condensed milk, because it was kind of a syrupy consistency.

Corn syrup is basically just a sugary liquid. I'm sure you could used sweetened condensed milk instead of the evaporated. You should give it a try!

This recipe calls for powdered sugar instead.
