 Im kinda confused on wether i may be pregnant or not. I was supposed to get my period on january 31st, but it never came. Its been about 6 or 7 days scince and i still have no signs of one. In december i had my period, but it was just about 3 or 4 days..which to me was odd, mainly because they last me 7 or 8. Im getting cramps and things, but no bleeding. I have been EXTREAMLY tired, and really havent had the greatest appetite. Im having some stomache pain, and im getting a little gasy... I dont really feel pregnant but im kinda lost and need help.

... okay, I'm sooo scared to find out whether or not I am or not... I keep telling myself I'm not.. because I don't feel like it... but I think I'm going to work on getting a test for sure... what are some things that I should be looking for?
I'm so sorry it took so long for me to answer. I was doing my nursing homework today.
Hun, unfortunately there is no way to tell for sure if you are pregnant or not at this point in time. You may just be late, happens to us all once in a while.
You don't mention your age or any form of birth control used. That is important to know.
Have you been ill recently? Gained or lost a good amount of weight recently?

That's totally fine. Im 17 years old, and we didn't use any typeof birth control... and to answer the next question.. no I haven't been sick at all or lost or gained any weight things have been the same for a long time..
Now I'm just thrown off and confused
At your age, periods can tend to be strange every once in a while... short one month, late the next, early in 6 months and heavy next year. LOL
Your hormones are still maturing.
Unfortunately, there is no way I can tell you whether you are or you aren't. I wish I could, but I dropped my crystal ball on the way to class yesterday. LOL (sorry, just kidding).
Unfortunately hun, you are now playing the waiting game and have to wait for your period to come. Since you are a bit late, it would be okay for you to take a HPT now, but remember to use first morning urine as it is so much more accurate.

Lol.
Yeah I wish I knew for sure though... I think I'm going to wait a little bit and then if I don't get my period with in the next week or two I'm going to take a HPT. I thnk that would be my best bet right about now .
I think you are right. Waiting is the best for you right now. If you can stand it. LOL
Now, remember, if you are not pregnant, and you are not ready to be a parent, you should consider one or two forms of birth control.

Its not that I don't want to be b.c I really do.
I just want to know for sure or not so I don't harm anything.

That does sound like pregnancy! Every pregnancy is different there are some symptons that will not show at all yet there are some that will. The bleeding you had in December sounded like an implantation bleed (when the baby implants it self in your uterus). Implantation bleeding is like a very light period and does not go for as long as a normal pregnancy. The best way to find out if you are pregnant is to do a pregnancy test. Good luck
Please understand that implantation bleeding is very rare, and has not been scientifically proven.
Think of it this way... when the zygote implants into the uterus it is smaller than a pencil dot. How is something so microscopic going to cause such bleeding?
Now, what is THOUGHT to be implantation bleeding is when a woman gets pregnant later in her cycle and there is not enough hCG in her system to stop the bleeding completely. Thus, she has a lighter and shorter period.
Again, it's best to wait until you miss your period to test using first morning urine.

I had the same sighs I think you should really go and have a test done.. and about your period lasting that short I don't think that really has anything to do with it I have short periods before anything... good luck

Well, you came to me looking for advice so here it is!
What are you fretting over babe? All this brain damage can be prevented with a simple trip to the pharmacy counter. Ask the pharmacist what the best test would be, or do your research on the net prior to going. Come home, stick it in your pee and you will know the answer.
Right now you are like that kid staring at an envelope from a college they applied to. You want to know whether you got in or not, but maybe you didn't. You think maybe cause the envelope is thick, it means you got in. Maybe though, it isn't as thick as you think and it is really a turn down. JUST OPEN THE F'ING ENEVELOPE!
It sounds like it won't be a big deal one way or the other to you so just put yourself out of yourself induced misery ;-)
Go to the store, get the test, or two, bring them home and come back and tell us the results!
Get it done chicky poo!

I doubt it's really $$ that's stopping you finding a pregnancy test, but if it IS, call a few clinics and ask around for help with free pregnancy testing. If they don't offer it, ask them for suggestions. Call a large church and ask for a women's ministry pastor and they may help you get a test free of charge.
I've even seen over the counter pregnancy test at the $1 stores, sometimes. At that price, buy 5 and use them all to be sure!
Since sex is FOR MAKING BABIES, this isn't confusing or out of the ordinary. It's just scarey. Fear is no excuse to do nothing or live in ignorance, so go find out the truth today.
And in the future, regardless of how this turns out, keep in mind you could be going through this whether you'd used birth control or not. Why? Because sex is FOR MAKING BABIES, and birth control doesn't change that, just reduces the CHANCES.
Any guy in the future that wants to do "it" with you, ask him "will you be a good father to our child?" That should put in back in perspective for both of you.
