My dog (an aulstralian shepard)won't stop biting himself to the point of Scabs, bleeding and bald spots. He also never wanted on anyone's lap for long until we sent him to a new dog grooming place, and had him shaved, and now he won't stop being clingy, and stay off anyone's lap where he likes to stay for hours on end.Could the New dog place have abused him or just made him cold?

Hyper... take your dog to the vet maybe they can get his skin problems under control. It may be something as simple as changing his food. But clearly he needs some type of medical attention. As far as the groomer, if his skin is sore and bleeding he just may have been further traumatized by being shaved. Yes, he is probably colder since he has less hair. Good luck

He is probably cold. I don't think shaving a dog is ever a good idea , especially in winter. He sounds extremely stressed. I would discourage lap sitting bahaviour. Make him a snug bed on the floor beside you maybe with toys and chew things etc.
As for the groomer, do they have a website. Google them and see if any complaints have been posted on them. If your in doubt, act with caution , and keep your dog away from them.
Also a trip to the vet, it could be an infection of the skin, caught from another dog, perhaps at the groomers.
