I was employed as a contract employer... I am filling out a 1099 - MISC.. what type of deductions can I claim.. I am now a permanent employee but I am trying to see what type of things I can place as a deduction so I do not owe the government that much money... :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

Well for course you will have to pay yourself employment taxes ( which would normaly have been your social security taxes)

But as a 1099 contractor you were self employed it was your own business, so you can deduct anything that you used or did as a self employed person that was business related

True, except for the commuting expenses (travel from home to work and back).

Commuting expenses are NEVER deductible.
