Back in 1998, there was a familiar fight in the house and then after that, we were all arrested. Next day, in court, we were charged of domestic violence, simple assault. We realized that it was a bad time so we all agreed before the judge that the case should be dropped somehow. The judge gave us 6 months of probation to see if it was true of we were saying. After 6 months, we went back to court and the judge dissmissed the case. Now, 10 years later, I am about to graduate from college and then, I would like to find a job based on my career. Many employers now request a background check as part of the hiring process. I was told this is considered as a felony even though the case is dissmissed. Would that record affect me now?. Am I going to have problems on getting a job? How does that affect me now?. Can that arrest be expunged?. I don't know.. I'm really confused now because now I'm really close to reach my goal and I am afraid that this situation ruins my career. Please help.

No if the case is dismissed unless you are applying for a job that requires a national security background check or a job in law enforcement, it will not show up.
No you can not have it explunged since there was never any conviction
** assuming that was what the judge really did.
You need to run a report on yourself and see if anything shows up, on the public record of it, nothing should be showing up.
