HELP

I just moved in to my home and I installed a new kitchen sink sprayer, but now the faucet has stop running water. I can only get the water to work by using the sprayer (which is also leaking, I guess I didn't tighten it enough). Can some one please tell me what I may have done wrong?

Why not start by telling us what was wrong with the old unit and di you replace just the srayer end or the hose too? Which end is leaking?

Did you install a new sprayer only or did you install a new faucet with a sprayer.

I replaced the sprayer w/ the hose only not the entire faucet. The original sprayer had a broken handle so it was inoperable.

Can't think of anyway replacing the sprayer could have affected the faucet operation. There is a little diverter valve in the faucet under the spout. These sometimes get stuck from debris or mineral deposits. To get to it you have to remove the handle and then remove the spout. I think you just had the bad luck of having the diverter valve stick at a time which would cause maximin confusion.

That tempoary malfunction will often reappear, its commonly caused by debris in the water heater. Flush the heater twice a year by opening the lower drain valve with a garden hose attached. Flush for 20-30 seconds 2x per year.

Hi Manuel:

Can you tell us a name on the faucet, how many handles and about how old the faucet is, please... ;)

I'm guessing a single handle faucet and that the cartridge is clogged in the faucet.

Let me know...
