I'm going to assume you had to go back to court when you broke probation. I will also assume that the DA requested the monitor. If the courts haven't given a definitive time frame, my guess is that during your next court appearance, the issue will be addressed. If you do not have a court date scheduled, talk to your probation officer, otherwise they may keep you on it for the duration of your probation depending on the details of your circumstance.

They put an ankle monitor on you and didn't give you a time frame? (I'm not so sure breaking probation is a "small crime.")

Wearing a monitoring device is far superior punishment than sitting in a jail cell any day of the week. There should be something at the probation office that they should have given to you in writing about just how long this is to go on. Ask your PO the next time you see or talk to them and get a copy of what is on paper about this. This is up to the Judge how long and it should be a signed order from him about the duration length.

Hello 130:
Probably no further than your yard. But, I don't really know. Ask your PO.

Usually about 100 feet away from the monitoring box. Once the box screams, you better get yourself into the house and CALL your PO and explain just WHY you were out of bounds. If you don't explain immediately (even if you leave a voice mail for the PO do it) you can expect the PO to come with the cops and arrest you and hold you in jail until your VOP hearing is held.

Possibly the sentence which would have been given had the monitoring box not been used. Possibly a second chance.
Possibly the original sentence plus additional time.
Only the Judge knows.
