Hello, this is my first time asking a question so I hope I can explain myself correctly.

We just bought a house and of course something is already wrong! The shower stall is leaking. It's one of those plastic stalls that has no seams except where the drain is on the bottom. Water is leaking from under the shower, coming through the wall dividing the shower stall and the garden tub. It's coming from under the baseboard. Is there anyway to fix this/diagnose this without ripping out the shower stall? Does it sound like a problem with the drain or a much larger problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help, we are a little stressed because we just spent thousands on the down payment and closing cost and am a little frustrated the inspector didn't catch this!

It only leaks after a shower... forgive my ignorance, but what is the mixing valve? The entire stall is one big platic unit, with only the drain hole, so the leak has to be connected to the drain, I guess to further clarify my question, can it just be the drain or is there typically some type of drain pan/basin under the stall that could be cracked allowing water to seep through the wall the shower is affixed to?

If the leak continues 24/7 it is likley a supply line. If however, it only leaks when the shower is used it could be the drain or a leak just after the mixing valve. I would call your home inspector and complain that he missed this item, you may be covered. However, you should remove the shower handle and escutcheon plate so you can see if there is a leak at the valve. Come back with any further info you come up with.
