f(x)=5-2cos(x)

Least value simply means Least value! (Look up a dictionary)

If you mean minimum, that's a different matter.

If you want to know WHAT is the least value in this case:

Cos x has a greatest value = 1

Hence Least value of f(x) = 5 - 2 = 3
