Have a 3 year old Lab mix, normally happy and healthy, who's not been looking well for 2 days, was sick twice with bile throw up and has not eaten any food up to today. Today he had a bloody stool, but then afterward seemed much better, running around. This morning he did finally take his normal cookie treat before we went out for his weekend walk, and did have several biscuits at the park. I'm still concerned due to the bloody stool. My vets office is closed until Monday, so I'm wondering if I should wait this out, too see if he continues to improve, or take him to emergency clinic.

I would go to the emergency clinic now, better safe than sorry. I have no idea what could be going on with your lab, I have two of my own and have never experienced something like what you are describing. It's only Saturday, I definitely wouldn't wait until Monday. Take care and let us know what is going on.

I told the Vet that I now believe that the dog maybe suffering from food posioning, as I just discovered that everything in my fridge has turned. The fridge is not working at all, and if this was the case earlier, then the meat that I cooked for him a few days ago, may have already gone bad. He has to stay at the emergency clinic for about a day while they give him antibiotics and fluids, and check for any other possible causes, but hopefully he will be all right soon. Thanks again.

I'm so glad to hear that you took him in, I hope that everything turns out okay. Like I said I have two labs of my own, well sort of they're both mixes but predominantly lab, one is going on 13 years this May, the other is 7. They bring such joy to our lives, to bad that can't tell us when something is wrong. You and your pup are in my prayers.
