What do we have to do for my husband to adopt my daughter?

First off, is the father of the child in the picture, has he given up his rights... If there is a father named, he needs to give up his parental rights. If not then you need to go to the clerk of the court in your county (courthouse) and depending on where you live they most likely will have the forms for you to fill out to begin the process!

You will need to file a petition in Family court for the adoption. Part of that petition will be termination of the bio father's rights. He has to agree to it. If he can't be found, you hae to make a good faith effort to contact him.
