If Statute of Limitations is what you spoke of, yes, there is.

... but the key question is what is being limited (lawsuit? Sent to a Collection Agency? Reported to the Credit Bureau?)

I did mean statute of limitation. Sorry if I wasn't clear. After an accident I wasn't able to pay my debts. I did try to use a service to negotiate, but
Discover Card had their lawyers garnish my checks. My company
Shut down the production section . I don't have a job. I was sent a letter that looked like a summons to my company asking for my phone number,a copy of my w-2 forms ,my address, check account number ,401k stocks, etc.
Something didn't look right in this letter that was sent from Discover Card's lawyers ,not the court house. Thanks for all the help .Imelda

Possible answer, --go to the court, check with the clerk of the court to see if this was issued by the court. It not "Refuse for cause, without recourse to me, all rights reserved, without prejudice" in red ink and sign, and return it to them. They are fishing for any assets you may have.

Just a thought, not legal advice
