{y = 4x + 1

So, replace y in you first equation by the definition of y in your second equation ie:

y = x-2

but also

y = 4x+1

Therefore:

x-2 = 4x+1

you can now solve this system for x. Resubstitute your value of x into one of the initial equations to find y.
