I have Dish Network with a dual receiver, a LiteOn dvd/vcr combo unit and just got a new Toshiba REGZA flat screen lcd TV. I have tried for hours to make the connections so it will all work and have not been able to accomplish anything. The new TV does not have any connections for a coax type cable with the little pin in it, only for RCA cable types. All of this was connected successfully with an old Zenith TV, so I'm sure it can be done, but I am not really a "techy" person when it gets complicated like this. The TV is HD, but I am not connecting HD right now. Any EASY TO UNDERSTAND help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank You!

Need to match cable type between Sat and TV, and DVD/VCR and TV.
What type of Inputs does TV Have? If a monitor, may not have correct inputs.
Also Try: Welcome to Monster® (http://www.monstercables.com)
Click "Home Theater Connection Guide" Then "Cable Types" Very helpful

The TV has rca inputs - red, white, yellow. It also has 1 input for S video and some other rca type ones that are different colors - green, blue. I hope that helps.

As for monster, I do not see what you are asking me to look at. Can you help?

Sorry to sound so stupid, but these things are so complicated anymore.

Thanks for your help!

Now, what type of outputs on the DVD/VCR?
From Sat use red/green/blue for video and red and white for audio. Then turn TV to that video input. The Sat could have red/white/yellow out, then in on different input on TV. Will need to select correct video input, You will not be using channel numbers on TV.
Red/blue/green video is called Component Video
Yellow is Called Composite Video. Both need a red and white for audio.

Would it help if I took pictures of the back of the TV, cdc/vcr combo unit and the dual receiver from Dish Network so you could see exactly what kind of inputs I'm looking at?

That would be perfect!
Basically the output of the Dish Receiver, and the output of the DVD/VCR, need to go to an input on the TV. The Cables need to match (HDMI, Component, S-Video, Composite, etc)That monster site above, has best diagrams and explanations I have seen.
If you are going to Record, you will need wiring between Sat Rcvr and VCR.

I took the pictures, but am unable to put them on here for you to see. I am going to try again using what you've already told me and see if I have any better luck. I apologize for going back and forth so many times and not knowing what I am doing. Thanks so much!

No Problem. Do any of the connections match? You can use the Red, white, and yellow to make it easy. Just remember to select proper video input(Not channel Number on TV)
Video 1 might be Sat, Video 2 might be VCR/DVD.

There are rca inputs on all 3 components, the blue and green on the dvd/vcr and on the TV - none on the satellite receiver. I think what's really frustrating me is the fact that there are 2 coax cables - one coming inside directly from the dish itself, and then where the cable was is now for TV2, I think, and that splitter on the back of the receiver is confusing me now. I'm going to forget it for tonight and look at it again tomorrow.

Thanks again for all your help! I'll get it hooked up eventually, I'm sure.

Since all thre have RCA, Hook up like above, For better Quality from DVD/VCR, use red, blue, and green between DVD and TV, then you will also need red and white for audio.
