My husband just finished installing engineered harwood floors in our living room. But there are these spots all over it now that look like little grease spots or something. We removed all the glued that had seeped up with mineral spirits, and tried removing these spots with mineral spirits as well, but it doesn't help at all. We also tried using an adhesive remover and that did nothing. At first, we thought maybe it was residue left by the glue, but since it's all over, I really don't think that's what it is. Does anyone have any advice? We are stumped...

Can't even guess really, without a pic of some kind.
If we absolutely have to guess with no visual cues, then I'm going to go with grape jelly.
That or turn signal fluid.
Thanks,

Hi schwim,
I called the place that sold us the wood and he said he thought it was grease from the glue. He told me to use cheesecloth to wipe it up. It has to be a dry absorbent cloth. I'm going to try that.

Hi there Lilly,
I've never seen a grease based adhesive, but they would know better than I.
I hope it works for you.
Thanks,
