We have a shower that is only 5 years old. The hot water pressure is only a small stream. We have replaced the cartridge and the anti-scald disc in the one handle shower faucet and it does not make any difference. We have checked for a leak in the crawl space and can find nothing wrong. The hot water pressure in the sink is just fine and the cold water pressure in the shower is fine. Any ideas as to what else might be the problem? We have tried everything, even bought the replacement parts twice thinking that maybe there might be something wrong with the new ones.

OK... when you removed the cartridge did you pulse the hot water to see if you could purge any debris from line..

If not give this a shot... shut hot and cold water supply... pull cartridge and then cover valve with a cloth and have a friend turn hot on full pressure a few times.. pulsing it like... you may or may not see something spit out. AND please be careful... HOT WATER!

THEN replace the cartridge and see what happens... LET US KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!

Yes, I had read that on an earlier post and we tried that several times. It did not help.

I have studied the diagrams for the faucet and everything is in right, and everything has been replaced. What are the integral supply stop assembly, do those screws adjust the water flow in anyway?

AN integral supply stop should be obvious under the face plate of the valve... in other words, once plate is removed you would see slotted heads to either side of the valve... these slotted heads are integral shutoffs. If you see this then shut the slotted head for cold and hot and then turn back on... did this fix.. If not then would need to shut water at main and remove the integral shutoff itself and again PULSE water to clear of debris... DO YOU HAVE integral stops.. Let us know.

Yes there are integral stops on the face panel. We did not do anything with these because we did not know for sure what they were until I found it on the web site. My husband is gone right this minute and I am unable to turn these either way, when he gets back I will have him try. If it does not work to turn them off and on, then what do I need to do.

They will work for on and off... turn clockwise for off. Then if by chance it does not shut off by turning clockwise you would definetely need to shut main, remove integral shutoff and then pulse water and replace integral shutoff... most important will just be to establish full pressure as close to valve as possible.. then work from there. Let us know!!

Do I turn the integral stops off with a screw driver like a screw

OK, we shut the integral stops off then turned them all the way on, we have more hot water pressure now but less cold water but it is almost even steven. Now the water will not shut off all the way when we turn the faucet off.

MASS has given you some very good directions but appears to be off line at this time. It appears that you have some junk getting stuck in the integral stops and most recently also that mixing valve. The mixer needs to be cleaned out again and don't reinstall it just yet. Close both integral stops and see if you can't find a short piece of hose or tubing that will fit inside or over the mixer body, maybe even seal a bit with duct tape because we are going to do some pulsing with no restriction. With hose in place, or what the heck it is a shower just strip and close the door, open and close one of the stops several times and then close it. Now open and close the other stop several times, now reinstall the cleaned cartridge. Any better, it should be all cleaned out because if tit isn't we're going to pull the whole mixer.

We tried shutting it off at the integral stops and back on but it continues to run even after the faucet is shut off. Get the pressure fixed and the water won't shut off, darn the luck.

Yep, I think you crud is likely partially plugging everything about now, can't turn it fully on and can't turn it fully off. Start with cleaning the cartridge and set the cartridge aside untile the mixer has been flushed. I am sure MASS will be back tomorrow and has done a good job helping you.
