I have a Kenmore Elite Dishwasher that started a problem today.

When you press Start, I get a 2 min countdown on the front and what sounds like drain, but it won't let me select any cycles.

I want to reset it, but I can't find a manual (I'm a renter) or a model number. I even pulled the dishwasher out completely, but can't find a model # anywhere for it. And no service documentation stuck to the top of it.

I've seen several posts about resetting using Heated Wash/Dry button sequence, but my unit doesn't have this.

On the Top panel I have the following buttons:
Smart Wash
Anti Bacterial
Pots/Pans
Normal
China/Gentle
Quick Rinse
Hi Temp Scrub
Sani Rinse
Air Dry

Any one have any help/suggestions before I call an appliance repair person?

Try hitting Hi temp scrub then air dry about 5 times to reset

That was my first thought as well. I tried it again after your post, but still no response or change in behavior.

This is about as far as you can go without calling for service unless you are good at troubleshooting.

Check the drain hose for clogs. Remove it from the drain or disposal and clean well. Does it now work?

It sounds similar to the problem I'm having. For resetting it, try hi temp scrub - air dry, 3 or 4 times, that reset mine. It didn't solve the problem permanently but it's worth a shot.
