Hi,

I've read through the other Honda non start topics and have done the tests.

I have a 1990 1.5 PGM Civic, Auto trans, 220,000 miles.
New distributor cap and Rotor. I have tested the Coil and Igniter and they test good. No Codes on the ECM. I test fuel pressure by cracking the line and letting it shoot out when cranked over. There is spark at each plug. I checked all the fuses.

I was going up a slight incline on the freeway and felt a small surge/stumble going down the offramp I noticed that my motor was really quiet and idle low. When I took off from the stop light the car was creeping forward as if the trans was slipping but I didn't notice an increase in RPMS. Taking off from the 2nd light I started in low gear and semi floored it to get up to speed and shifted when I got momentum. When I got home I pulled up my driveway and threw it in reverse and backed up at a pace I pulled forward and it seemed okay. I didn't want to drive down the street just in case it decides to break down. I park the car overnight. Next morning I try to start the car and it just cranks. Not the fast broken timing belt cranking but a normal cranking. I then proceeded and tested all the things I could. Today we loosened the distributor advanced the timing and it almost started. I believe my friend turned the distributor it as much as it could. It started to rain and we quit.
What should I do next

Thanks in advance

Perry

. Ensure your ECM passes the K-Test.

. Replacing the distributor housing would be next--go with a genuine Honda unit. Because of the age of your car, I would replace the ICM and coil.

Hi TGM

I did the K test and it was fine and I swappped the ECM from a friends running 91' and still no start. What on the distributor housing would go bad. I have a new ICM and Coil. I'm getting fuel (I looked down the throttle body and saw the spray.) I'm getting spark checked the plugs individually for spark. Check the Timing marks and doesn't look like the belt slipped as I initially thought. Marks are lined up and rotor pointing at number one.

Thanks
Paul
