Do all galaxies rotate, and if so, is it in the same direction

Yes, no.

What reference point would the "same direction" come from anyway?

No from the point of view of us Human being. One rotate clockwise other rotate counter. Depending on where you are seeing it. Looking infornt of it or at the back of the galaxy will change the direction of spinning due to reference point.

I think galaxies should rotate. The answer is simple, if the planets stop revolving around the sun they will collide due to mutual attraction. The same thing should also hold for the stars in a galaxy. If the revolution of stars (rotation of the galaxy) stops, then every thing will collapse on its own. If direction of rotaion is concerned, the birth and evolution of galaxies becomes important as that of our own solar system.
