I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota. Recently, my neighbor had a remote starter put on her vehicle. Now when she starts her vehicle, she also starts mine. I believe that there was a remote starter installed from a previous owner of the truck. How do I locate the remote starter and uninstall it so my neighbor doesn't start my truck anymore?

I am pretty sure you can reprogram the frequency, is this a dealer option or after market? Otherwise just pull the fuse.

Hey tgoll, I install remote starter for a living. The starter module is under the drivers side dash, usually to the left of the steering column. Look for a black box that is about 4x5x2 in size with a lot of wires coming out of it. There will be 2 or more fuses located on these wires, you just need to remove the fuses.
If you never intend to use the starter again then you could also just cut or unplug the antennae that is attached to the windshield above the mirror.

Someone has installed a remote start on my 2000 chevy silverado and the battery keeps going dead but if we unplug the box the truck won't run. What can I do about this?

How do I take out a auto start from a 04 buick century?
Car won't start unless you cross the starter.
