How do I get my cat to stop splashing out the water bowl?

And I thought only dogs did this! You'll have to either get a bigger bowl or get a deeper bowl. Kitty can't help it.

My cat dips her foot and licks it off, thus causing drops to get on the ground all around the water dish. A cat drinking fountain helps with this somewhat, since she prefers to drink out of the stream of water, but won't stop it entirely. My solution is to put a rubber feeding mat with a lip under the bowl, and not worry about it.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, but I guess I should have given more detail... It isn't just a matter of drips... He actually digs through the water and gets it all over the place... I bought one of those dishes that uses a 2 litter bottle for the water and set it high enough that they could just reach to eat and drink, but he gets on his hind legs and paddles through it anyway... He drained the whole bottle within 5 hours... I have 2 cats and it is hard to keep water so the other one can enjoy a drink now and then... Several people have suggested I use a large tube bottle... I don't know if this would help or if he would just play with it until he got all the water out of it also... lol :)

Have you tried leaving the bath tub faucet on for your water boy? Apparently he just loves to play in the water and can't seem to get enough. Maybe the tub faucet will slake his thirst and cater to his water fun!
