I don't understand why my emails do not print in outlook express as well as in Explorer I can not print anything either. The Print is not greyed out and the print box comes up, I push print... but nothing... I have to copy and paste to a word doc to get anything printed. I used to be able to print from these areas on my old computer so I know it can be done.

SacredSpirit,

Lets start at the beginning. Disconnect the printer from the PC. See if the printer will print a menu page in stand-alone mode.

If the printer works, now its back to the PC. Open the Control panel and go to Printer and Faxes. Is the printer you are trying to reach visible on the display?

If yes, then lets check the properties. First, what is the media that connects the two units. Are you connected to a USB port or a parallel port.

Does the green light flash on the printer as it is receiving data. Is the printer you are trying to reach the Default printer.

There is a slight possibility that there can be a corrupted printer code that can cause the printer to appear to sleep while it chews on data.

donf,
My printer is a Brother MFC-215C (Fax, Scanner, Copier, Printer)
My printer prints in all other areas of my PC... just not explorer and Outlook Express ? So do you still want me to disconnect the printer from the PC and see if the printer will print a menu page in stand-alone mode?
OTHER Details U ASKED:
Is the printer you are trying to reach visible on the display? YES

Does the green light flash on the printer as it is receiving data. DOESN'T HAVE GREEN LIGHT BUT DISPLAYS 'RECEIVING DATA' WHEN IT PRINTS

Is the printer you are trying to reach the Default printer. YES
