View Full Version : What bachelor degree to be a pathologist?

Hi
Want to have a career in pathology..
In college right now working on my associates in science and I was wondering when I graduate I will have to get a bachelors degree at another college.. but I'm not too sure in what field... in order to pursue a career in pathology? Is it a bachelor in biological Science?
Confused.. help any advice?

A pathologist is an MD.

Yes, you will need your Doctorate to be a pathologist as a pathologist is a medical doctor who examines tissues and organs, etc.

I know all about pathologist and what they do...
But I was asking when I get my bachelors degree
What field does it have to be.. in order to move onto
Becoming a pathologist.. Is it in biological science?

You can get a bachelor's in anything. You can get a bachelor's in english and still go to medical school. All you need to be a pathologist... is to go to medical school.
As far as... what degrees will "help" being a pathologist... you can try things like biology, neuroscience, global health, etc. however, anything will do.
For example, I'm a mathematics/physics double major. I'm still going to medical school to be a surgeon.
